University College Dublin Ireland (UCD) has a rich history of 160 years, evolving from the Catholic University to the Royal University before adopting its current name in 1908. As a research-intensive institution, UCD is committed to academic excellence, innovation, and global engagement.
The University of Galway is a prestigious Irish University with a history spanning over 175 years. Started in 1845 as Queen’s College Galway, the University officially opened in 1849 with a cohort of 68 students. Since then, it has grown exponentially in size, influence, and reputation. The National University of Ireland Galway or NUI Galway was again renamed as the University of Galway in 2022.
Established in 1845, University College Cork (UCC) is situated on a limestone bluff with a scenic view of the River Lee in Ireland. In 1997, Maynooth gained autonomy under the Universities Act, making it both one of Ireland’s oldest and youngest Universities simultaneously.
Technological University Dublin popularly known as TU Dublin stands as Ireland's first Technological University. Officially established on 1st January 2019, its origins trace back to 1887 with the founding of the City of Dublin Technical Schools. TU Dublin progressed through the amalgamation of three partner Institutes, namely Dublin Institute of Technology, Institute of Technology Blanchardstown, and Institute of Technology Tallaght. At present, TU Dublin is the second-largest third-level institution in Ireland, serving an enthusiastic student population of approximately 28,500 learners. Munster Technological University, Ireland was established in 2021 following the merger of Cork Institute of Technology and the Institute of Technology Tralee.
